Just listen to this man play. And don’t just listen to the notes, but listen to the space between the notes. We might not have always agreed on his music, but there is genius here, that transcends styles. His solo starts at 3:27. Weeping indeed.

He has been fighting flu/respiratory issues. His last show was in Atlanta last week. Sad. I can see a situation like Jim Henson where he maybe didn’t take the time he should have to look after his health.
Like you said, we might not have agreed on all the music, but he was an artist of the highest caliber and his work should be appreciated. Also, you never really heard of him getting in trouble, being bad to people or that kind of thing. He lived an odd life, but he didn’t do a lot of the stupid things some of his peers did.

Says he made an emergency landing the other day and went to the hospital, nasty flu. People can die from influenza, it does happen.

He could play a ridiculous amount of instruments. My GF from college was from MN and she was a music major, she said he could play like 40 instruments.

Yeah for sure, pneumonia or the flu combined with anything can makes it very hard to balance out treatment. My grandma died in the hospital because they couldn’t treat the fluid in the lungs and something else at the same time, the two problems were made worse by each other’s treatment.

He had the flu, so i’m guessing it turned into pneumonia because he didn’t take care of it. Same thing happened to Jim Henson. Sad.

Actually, it’s fairly well known that Prince was one of the worse pieces of shit in the music industry. Not speaking ill of the dead and I’m a massive Prince fan, but it’s just a fact. He was a pretty terrible human being. I know close to a dozen people who have worked with him. None of them even had a neutral thing to say about him, let alone something good, and these are people used to dealing with egos on massive tours. Some refused to work with him after meeting him.
